If you were this employer what would you choose – A or B or C?
Your current inventory system is causing more headaches and the reports it spits out require hours of manipulation to get the information you need. Out of frustration you investigate and find a system that is a better fit. However there will be implications on existing processes and the workload of the team. What would you choose?
A – Work with the existing team and an external contractor to get the system up and running. You then decide whether to restructure after the initial system setup and testing phase, because you are having to run 2 systems in parallel until the new system is bug free and working as it should.
B – You tell the team the system is going live on 1 June. They have a month to get it going. You threaten to fire them if they don’t meet the deadline and then leave them to it.
C – You launch straight into a restructure because many in the team are against the new system and don’t want to change or learn new ways of working
