HR Consultant Vacancy

  • Support two growing consulting businesses in Te Awamutu and Hamilton.
  • Work with businesses of all sizes from a wide range of industries.
  • Use your valuable senior advisory expertise.

Are you a skilled and experienced HR consultant who thrives on variety?

If so, and you’re looking for something a bit different, here’s an opportunity to kick-start your new year.

This isn’t your everyday HR consulting role. For an established contractor, it’s a great opportunity to use all your skills, in all areas of HR.

In this role, you’ll be an HR consultant for not one, but two Waikato-based boutique consultancies: Stapleton Consulting and OrgDesign.

Based in Te Awamutu, Stapleton Consulting works with clients on specific projects and provides advice and solutions, such as filling difficult roles and HR strategy development.

OrgDesign is based in Hamilton and supports clients to develop their organisation structure and culture from the early stages of design, through to implementation and review.

What you’ll do

We work with all sizes of clients from all industries – so if variety is what you look for in a role, you’ll find it here.

Working closely with our principal consultants, you’ll assist with:

  • Designing and documenting organisation structures.
  • Supporting performance management processes.
  • Assisting with client HR audits.
  • Supporting the implementation of payroll or HRIS applications.
  • Preparing position descriptions.
  • Managing recruitment processes.
  • Creating and/or revising employment agreements.
  • Drafting client reports and presentations.

Who you are

We’re looking for an experienced HR consultant or generalist who’s flexible and adaptable, who’s an innovative problem-solver and has pinpoint attention to detail.

With experience up to a senior advisor level in a corporate environment, you’ll have a degree or equivalent experience in HR or business, sound knowledge of current New Zealand employment laws, and be up-to-date with any upcoming changes.

Responsiveness is as important to you as clear communication, and you’ll be an engaging person who can interact easily with everyone, from directors to front-line customer service officers. You’ll relish the challenge of constantly working with different businesses and quickly getting up to speed with new ways of working.

You’ll also be used to the fluctuations in workload that go along with consulting life. This role has no set hours, and work is often directed by our clients’ needs or timelines.

Ideally you’ll be based in the Waikato or near Hamilton – but as long as you’re set up to work remotely and can work in Te Awamutu and Hamilton when required, it’s not essential.
